The Gralien Report

Greetings everyone,

A brief note to those of you who may have noticed the links in yesterday’s post, UFO Declassification Around the World: An Online Resource, are no longer working: strangely, once I noticed this error had somehow occurred, I went into the site and attempted to fix the problem. While doing so, a window appeared, telling me “www.gralienreport.com requires a password for you to edit and make changes to the post”. As the only administrator of this site, I entered my login credentials, but was still denied. I wasn’t even allowed to delete the post and re-enter it! WTF?

Therefore, the bad links cannot be replaced, at present. It’s strange stuff, to say the least… but what in the world could have caused this? Anyone out there with technical knowledge of such matters who may be able to help, please email me at info@gralienreport.com. Otherwise, perhaps it’s just that the aliens among us don’t want to be discovered…

UPDATE: I’ve managed to get nearly all the primary links working in the post mentioned above, and they should be working freely now for your perusal. However, I still can’t understand how an administrator gets locked out of his own posts… high strangeness indeed.

The recent buzz about Russian UFO files being released has not only drummed up quite a bit of discussion about UFO secrecy and declassified government files, but also more concern over whether or not we’ll see official US disclosure any time soon (I say this in spite of how much secret UFO information our government has already released… but more on that later).

For me, it has also revamped an interest in reading over declassified UFO documents produced by foreign countries around the world. However, when I set out to do a little perusing in this manner today, I was surprised to find how difficult a variety of the resources provided by various organizations regarding their UFO files were to find. Therefore, I decided to take a little time to gather several of the most recent countries to have disclosed UFO documents (dating back to around 2007) and provide a round up for Gralien Report Readers. Below, you’ll find a variety of links to declassified government UFO files from countries around the world, and probably more once-secret UFO documents than you could ever hope to read!

With all the news circulating regarding the release of UFO documents gathered by the Russian Navy over the last several decades, some rather interesting parallels have begun to emerge. Perhaps most interesting of all is the notion that, according to the records alleged to have been released, UFOs seem to be monitored in a greater concentration beneath the ocean or near bodies of water (like Lake Baikal, right) than anywhere else. Though some might feel like this sort of information could be a bit skewed (coming from the Navy, as opposed to the airforce), considering that the Navy would have better access to monitoring activity both below and above the ocean’s surface, these surprising details may very well be of greater merit than anything we’ve documented from the skies alone. The only problem: after digging around the net to try and locate the actual documents in a PDF or something similar, I have yet to find any such files, nor any conclusive evidence that this information is true and accurate.This isn’t to say that the information we’re recieving is a hoax, of course; merely that the information we’re getting is coming second hand, and largely due to language barriers, etc, we have yet to see the “the horse’s mouth”, so to speak. The debate rages on over at the ABOVE TOP SECRET forums, where several Russian-speaking users are being sought-out in an effort to obtain electronic copies of the supposed Naval files. However, considering the number of UFO files that exist in the public domain pertaining to the USSR (courtesy of the CIA), it isn’t too much of a stretch to assume that the Russian Navy had been gathering files of their very own. I’d like to invite everyone to have a look at an article I’ve written for eHow.com about how to use news-only search features on search engines like Google to find the very latest news on virtually anything you’re trying to find. Granted, this may seem like a no-brainer to many (especially those of you in the blogging community who, like me, already use things like Google Alerts to get news stories). However, a good part of what makes sites like Google, Yahoo, and now Microsoft’s search engine Bing so attractive is the simplicity of going to a Web page, typing a word or two, and getting your results quickly. What I’m outlining, though it involves a few extra steps, is a better way to get the most up-to-date news about ANYTHING…

…but of course, if you care to use key terms like UFO, Bigfoot, alien, conspiracy, etc, the benefit here is that you can often get search results that are less than an hour old. Once you obtain it, do the right thing by sharing it with those to whom it be most useful: the paranormal community.By helping get the word out, we can help each other expand our knowledge base and learn together more efficiently. In this clip, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs received a surprise call from “Ryan”, a man from Seattle, Washington, which dealt with the Obama administration’s promises of “transparency” regarding UFOs:

Gibbs is already being criticized by folks posting in comment forums on a variety of websites carrying this video, mostly due to the fact that he appears to be “snickering” as the caller poses his question. However, it seems that, when addressing politicians about this sort of thing, Gibbs’ handling of the question was far better than what we’ve seen in the past, even from Obama, who has been asked similar questions on a few occasions. For instance, recalling the late October 2008 Democratic debates we are reminded that Obama was asked by the late Tim Russert if he believed in intelligent life elsewhere in the Universe. Obama quickly dodged the question, using the opportunity to instead reflect his concern for “life here on Earth.” In addition to a wry grin similar to that displayed by Gibbs in the video above, I remember detecting a slight air of criticism in his voice as I watched that evening, likely at the notion that the commentators would use time given for debate to discus aliens and UFOs instead.

In stark contrast to our modern concern over global warming, the April 28 1975 edition of Newsweek featured an analysis regarding the threat of global cooling:

The central fact is that after three quarters of a century of extraordinarily mild conditions, the earth’s climate seems to be cooling down. Meteorologists disagree about the cause and extent of the cooling trend, as well as over its specific impact on local weather conditions. But they are almost unanimous in the view that the trend will reduce agricultural productivity for the rest of the century. If the climatic change is as profound as some of the pessimists fear, the resulting famines could be catastrophic. “A major climatic change would force economic and social adjustments on a worldwide scale,” warns a recent report by the National Academy of Sciences, “because the global patterns of food production and population that have evolved are implicitly dependent on the climate of the present century.”

Evidence used to support this survey included research by Dr. Murray Mitchell of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration which indicated

• A drop of half a degree in average ground temperatures in the Northern Hemisphere between 1945 and 1968
• Satellite photos indicating a sudden, large increase in Northern Hemisphere snow cover in the winter of 1971-72 (observed by George Kukla of Columbia University)
• And a study released in March of 1975 by NOAA scientists, which noted that “the amount of sunshine reaching the ground in the continental U.S. diminished by 1.3% between 1964 and 1972”

As ridiculous as many would assert claims of “global cooling” are in the world of today, there are nonetheless proponents of this, as well as those who think that factors outside of industrial emissions of CO2 gasses might be to blame for climate change on Earth; namely our sun.

For decades, a moral debate over whether experiments that involve the hybridization of humans and other animals has been raging, with speculation building as to what sorts of help–or horrors–might result from such research. Now, Senators Sam Brownback (R-Kansas) and Mary Landrieu (D-Louisiana) have introduced in Congress the Human-Animal Hybrid Prohibition Act of 2009. The proposed measure has already received 20 co-sponsors, with Landrieu as the only Democrat at present, but will there be enough support to enact laws to soon enforce preventative measures against the creation of cross-species hybrids like alleged “humanzees”?

OneNewsNow discussed the dangers of human-animal hybridization with Dr. David Prentice of the Family Research Council, who warns that he expects there will be many who will fight against the bill. ”There are already scientists who are planning and starting experiments to combine human and animal hybrid embryos for experiment,” he says. The proposed bill will not affect use of animals or humans in legitimate research, “but would ban creation in the laboratory of part-human, part-animal creatures that would blur the line between the species.”

Famous inventor Nikola Tesla was known for the massive wealth of knowledge he produced in his lifetime with regard to the understanding of electricity. Even today, many still believe that Tesla probably had a potential for knowledge of how electricity and radio work that could rival the best experts living now. But is there evidence that Tesla involved himself in other, even stranger studies?

To describe anything Tesla might have done as “strange” isn’t too great a stride for most, seeing as how conspiracies involving Tesla’s involvement with the infamous Philadelphia Experiment, or even rumors of “death rays” and electric spacecraft have proliferated for decades. With the majority of his notes and work tucked away nicely at the bottom of some unknown Federal file cabinet, it is likely that we’ll never know the complete story. However, as indicated in the Collier’s Weekly periodical in March of 1901, it seems we were indeed made privy to at least one interesting facet of his work which begs further explanation: communication with other planets.

You’re walking home late in the evening, just as the sun is going down, and as the colors of daylight begin to be replaced by dark grays and the absence of light, you’re reminded of how shadows always seem to get the longest—and darkest—just before nightfall. You see all this, and acknowledge the slight, sudden chill in the air as you feel individual hairs prickling under your clothes. As your apprehension grows, you catch yourself smiling, laughing at your own tendency to fall prey to your worst fears, however silly they may seem. You then assure yourself that the movement you see off to the side, just out of your line of sight, is merely an illusion.

Try to assure yourself it’s nothing. After all, shadows are merely outlines of solid objects; opaque, fleeting references to their ultimate source, rather than the objects themselves. So what if the shadow ahead looks like a creature leering at you from the darkness, or a strange freak with a top hat, peeking around a corner? Surely it’s only your eyes playing tricks, right?

Author Jason Offutt would beg to differ with such sound sentimentalities, opting to express instead the absolute fantastic. Though he does so bravely, he assures us that he approaches the subject of actual shadow entities or “shadow people” from a journalistic perspective, “allowing others—experts, victims, willing participants—to tell their stories”.
