One of the most famous alleged victims of mind control during the cold war era was Candy Jones, a famous pin-up favorite during World War II and the wife of late-night radio host Long John Nebel. Due to her strange, inexplicable mood swings, Nebel began to hypnotize Jones and claimed to have uncovered an alternate personality named “Arlene”. In addition to this discovery, Jones admitted to having a handful of fleeting conscious memories of what she believed were indicative of mind control in her past, having begun around 1960. The claims were later included in author Donald Bain’s book The Control of Candy Jones, where a Dr. Jensen and his assistant Dr. “Marshall Burger” had used uncomfortable tactics including painful torture in order to “test the effectiveness of the alternate personality” which Nebel himself described as being a particular voice Candy would use, paired with “a look (and) a few moments of bitchiness.” On his radio program, which six nights per week featured Jones as a co-host, Nebel openly discussed his desire to kill the “Dr. Jensen” involved in the mind control experiments.

Altogether, who knows how many Americans may have been subjected to such terror, and may have even remained unaware of the experiences, victims of deconstructive mental torture with hope of concealing the reality of secret projects from the public… and even those made to carry out the “dirty work” themselves!

The overlap of folks doing this sort of research with other figures and quite specific subject matter is alarming. I have corresponded with Tracy Twyman re: Black Sun and with Tim Beckley re:George Hunt Williamson, contactee and Pelley supporter.
I keep thinking there must be a way to tie all these strange threads together under one Thulean title. One thing’s for sure… the bibliography is going to be immense!
