Dr. X was in France, not Italy – and a war injury also healed, not just the hematoma. He and his infant son (who was with him when the beam hit him, his son’s cries alerted Dr. X to the disc) subsequently both developed triangles on their abdomens intermittently.

* If I’m not mistaken, Adasmky did not claim to have communicated with Norton in a completely ‘telepathic’ fashion; he said the dialogue involved a mix of hand gestures and signs too.
* Dr. X was not from Italy, but France; and aside from his (at the time) recent leg wound caused by chopping wood, the light from the flying saucer also cured him from a much older partial paralysis dating back from the time he was stationed in Algeria –man, I’d love to have one of THOSE kinds of close encounters.
