If You Call Them, They (May) Come: UFOs and Psychic Phenomena
Over the last few months my colleague Mobius, an engineer with the L. E. M. U. R. Paranormal investigation team, and I have been pursuing various links between UFOs and psychic phenomena, even exploring parallels between ghostly manifestations and the ways they can relate to UFO activity. Our article Ghostly Receptors in the February 2008 issue of FATE Magazine dealt in-depth with such parallels, exploring topics like the eastern “tulpa” phenomenon, as well as UFOs appearing in accordance with subconscious thought patters and the like.
The other day I receieved an interesting report from my friend and fellow researcher Patrick Green which draws many similarities to the studies which Mobius and I have taken interest:
“I read with interest the account of the recent UFO sighting in Arden. It reminded me of my own experience some years ago (mid-nineties, I think). Along with a young lady-friend, I attended a speech by Dr. Steven Greer, during which he showed the footage of the supposed grounded UFO with beings walking around it. The next morning, I was leaving home early, when the dawn was just beginning to break. I looked up and crossing the sky almost directly overhead was a classic triangle shaped UFO, with the corner lights and larger central light. There was just enough light to provide a good silhouette outline of the craft, and there was a low sound that I wouldn’t describe as mechanical.
I later called my lady friend to tell her about the the sighting, and she excitedly told me about seeing something cross the sky over her house the night before, after we’d parted. She mentioned that she tried the oft-reported mental message, asking the craft to come closer, and that it did, changing direction and passing over the other way. I don’t remember much about her description, except that it differed from what I’d seen. At that time, there wasn’t exactly a network of local folks interested in the phenomenon, so other than the girl, I didn’t discuss it with anyone.
Since then, I’ve often questioned what I saw, assuming that since I was living close to the airport at the time, I had simply mis-identified a plane after being influenced by Dr. Greer’s presentation. I can’t speak for my friend, but she seemed totally convinced of what she had seen, and did not live near the airport. Another drop in the ocean we call the UFO mystery, I suppose.
As a side note, Patrick Green is also a writer; for those of you who enjoy the horror and suspense genre click here to see his latest effort, titled Bill’s Becoming. All in all, the next time I see a triangle UFO, I’m still not sure I’d be brave enough to try ”calling to it”. How about you?
