The Continued Mystery of Off-Colored Animalia
While over in England the curious story of Pete the Purple Squirrel is still making news, elsewhere strange white creatures have been disturbing an undisclosed location code-named “Marley Woods”, as described by UFO investigator Ted Phillips. Phillips, along with the Special Investigations Department of his Center for Physical Trace Research, has led research into bizarre phenomenon occurring in this area since the 1930s. Recent reports of large dog or bear-like canid “beasts” reported at the site, white in color and apparently impervious to gunfire, sound very reminiscent the kinds of creatures reported at the infamous “Skinwalker Ranch” in Utah. Below is the 2008 report on encounters with these albino beasts, posted at the CPTR website:

Phillips formed his Special Investigations Unit (referred to throughout the report above as the SIU) as a division acting within his CPTR organization. As described at the popular UFO forum Department 47, “This small group of dedicated researchers functions like the Navy SEALS in that they are inserted into UFO hotspots armed with electronic and imaging equipment.” According to Phillips and his SIU, The Marley Woods aren’t restricted to phenomena cryptozoological in nature, however. UFO activity also is frequently reported in the area, dating back to1937 with similar UFO objects appearing more frequently beginning in the 1950’s lasting until the present. Especially during this period between the 1950’s and the early 1990’s, one property owner in the area had discussed observing such craft numerous times before his death in 2002. This man described “large amber lights, light masses with beams of light and objects landing on his farm,” a description which lends itself to the popular name given to the objects, “Ambers”.
Another witness in the area described an encounter he and his wife shared with the Ambers of the Marley Woods on December 17, 1988. “As I was unloading sacks of livestock feed and carrying them into the old cabin, my attention was captured by five very large white lights over the tree line horizon, northeast of the cabin. The witness described that the lights had been arranged horizontally in a straight line, spanning an area of more than 300 feet in the sky from the first to the last light. “I immediately told my wife to look and she quickly turned to see the glowing objects as they began to ‘squeeze’ out (disappear). There was no sound or movement associated with the lights.”
What could be the at the root of the inexplicable activity that has troubled locals in the “Marley Woods” area for so many decades? Could this region indeed be some kind of a portal for strange phenomenon, much like the aforementioned “Skinwalker Ranch”, with its numerous bizarre parallels linking UFOs and odd cryptid activity? Or could there be scientific explanations able to satisfy the notions behind “Ambers” and other strange lights seen on the property, much like North Carolina’s Brown Mountain Lights?
