UFO Report: April 12th 2008
UFOs are all the buzz in the American south right now; especially since Stephenville, Texas began making headlines as the “new Roswell” with all these reports of triangular UFOs (to see an actual photo of one of the alleged Stephenville UFOs taken by an anonymous peace officer while patrolling the area, click here).
However, strange aerial phenomena has been witnessed elsewhere in the south. Below is an odd report I received from a resident of Arden, North Carolina late this week. Apparently, the witness and his company had been travelling near the Asheville Regional Airport, one of the largest in Western North Carolina. Still, what they saw didn’t match any conventional aircraft. Here is the report:
‘The first thing that entered my mind (and exited my mouth) was “what the hell was that?” It was one of those moments where you know you just saw something, but you still have trouble convincing yourself that what you’ve just seen had actually happened.
‘Two nights ago (Wednesday April 9th, right around 10pm; I recall this because I had just finished watching an episode of Ghost Hunters oddly enough) my good friend Jordan and I were leaving my house to meet with other friends for a few drinks. Jordan was driving, and I headed toward the end of my driveway to open our gate for him. The gate is old aluminum about 7 feet high, which marks off our property in a large menacing-looking rectangle. As I threw the two sides open, I looked up and in about the middle of the sky near the horizon, I watched what looked like a flashing red ball of light fly very rapidly past two much larger white balls of light that moved from the right side of my field of vision to the left.
‘What had I just seen? Most aircraft have at least one strobing light, and I live about 4 miles from the Asheville Airport, so I’ve seen these lights on a regular basis my whole life. The two white lights on the other hand… these looked similar to shooting stars but much larger and closer, one slightly behind the other moving very fast and HORIZONTALLY!!
When Jordan finally backed out to where I was, I jumped in the car and frantically explained what I had just seen as we continued watching the red flashing light. We even wondered if maybe the aircraft had shot some sort of “dummy missiles”, as we do have a lot of national guard planes in the area, but as I watched the red dot I realized it was heading in the opposite direction of the the two white lights so it couldn’t have fired anything out of the front.’
I have come across reports from time to time about flares and other luminescent devices employed by military planes, but within four miles of one of the largest airports in the area, the aircraft this individual witnessed, whether taking off or landing, would probably have been at a low enough altitude to be recognizable, especially if it were the case that this had been some kind of military aircraft. Presently, the witness had said he hopes to contact air traffic control at the airport and see if anything out of the ordinary was reported on the date and time he witnessed the strange lights.
In the meantime, does this scenario sound familiar to anyone out there, especially any civilians with professional knowledge of aviation? What did these two men witness over Western North Carolina? Any ideas are welcome, and I encourage you to comment here or, if preferred, contact me privately with an update via email at info@gralienreport.com.
