This week on The Gralien Report, we enjoy some Thanksgiving leftovers during the opening segment of the show, which includes a very Lovecraftian take on an old holiday favorite… who would have thought that adding the ashes of a deceased ancestor might aid in attaining the perfect brine for a roasted turkey? Elsewhere, strange sky flashes, cloning technologies, and strange animal stories are afoot in the news, along with the latest push for decriminalization of magic mushrooms for therapeutic purposes.
Then in the second hour, we turn our atttention to the subject of remote viewing, and CIA programs aimed at developing bizarre gifts of the mind among its participants. Leading this very kind of research had been Russell Targ, a physicist who, along with names that included Hal Puthoff and others, sought to understand the mechanics of psychic phenomena. What they discovered was that remote viewing and psychic abilities appeared to occur more often than just statistical chance, when conducted in a lab setting. Could more be learned about these strange powers of the mind, if only science would turn its attention toward them in practical ways?
